Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before starting your next adventure.
Getting Started
Narrantium is a narrative-first tabletop RPG platform built for Game Masters.
You can run ready-made adventures or build your own by connecting scenes, characters, locations, maps, encounters and story elements into one playable experience.
Not exactly.
Narrantium includes maps, characters, encounters, dice and live player interaction, but it is built around story flow rather than tactical simulation.
Think of it as the place where your adventure comes together and comes alive at the table.
Yes. The Free plan lets you start creating and playing adventures without entering payment details.
It includes up to 15 Scenes per adventure and up to 5 private characters. Publishing, private asset libraries and AI tools require a paid plan.
If you choose a ready-made adventure, you can prepare a session very quickly: pick an adventure, read through the GM material, invite your players and start the session.
If you prefer, you can also build an adventure entirely from scratch.
Playing
No. Players can join a session as guests directly from their browser, using the invitation link or code the GM shares.
Creating an account is optional and useful when players want to save and reuse their own characters and content.
No. Narrantium runs in the browser, so players do not need dedicated software to join a session.
Live sessions are designed for tablets and computers; on phones the session opens fullscreen in landscape.
Absolutely. You can use individual devices, share the Player View on a common screen with Projection Mode, or simply keep Narrantium open as the GM while everyone plays around the table.
Players can also use physical character sheets when preferred.
Then they are behaving exactly like RPG players.
Narrantium does not force adventures into a fixed sequence. Scenes represent locations, situations and narrative moments the GM can move between whenever the story requires it.
The GM remains in control of where the adventure goes.
Yes. You can run encounters, manage characters and enemies, use battle maps and manage positioning during combat.
Tactical tools stay connected to the surrounding story rather than becoming the centre of the platform.
Creating
Yes. That's one of the main reasons Narrantium exists.
You create Scenes and connect them with characters, locations, maps, encounters, story elements, notes, music and other assets to turn your material into a playable adventure.
You can start with a single session or gradually build an entire world.
Yes, and you don't need to rebuild everything at once.
You can gradually bring your existing notes, characters, locations, maps and other material into Narrantium and organise it as you play.
Every adventure and asset carries a Rule System, and you can currently choose between D&D 5e, Pathfinder 2e, Call of Cthulhu 7e, Daggerheart, Cyberpunk RED, World of Darkness 5th, Savage Worlds and a Universal option.
The assisted character tools are currently built around 5e-style fantasy play, while the narrative structure stays flexible so more Rule Systems can be supported over time.
AI & Content
No. AI tools are optional.
You can create adventures using your own writing, artwork, uploaded images, music and other material. AI is an additional creative tool, not a requirement.
Some Narrantium content may contain AI-assisted material.
Where applicable, published content communicates its creative origin using three classifications: AI Generated, Human Edited and Human Created.
Read the Creative & AI Policy Plans & Billing
Paid plans expand what you can create and access in Narrantium.
Depending on the plan, this can include larger creation limits, reusable private assets, AI tools, discounts or full access to official adventures, and publishing your own adventures.
Compare plans → Yes. You can upgrade your plan whenever you need more, and the change applies immediately.
You can cancel from the customer portal in your profile: you keep the paid plan until the end of the current billing period, after which the account returns to the Free plan. Switching directly to a lower paid plan isn't supported — cancel first, then subscribe to the plan you want.
Narrantium is designed for Game Masters who want to spend less time preparing and more time playing, while keeping control over their worlds and stories.
It is particularly useful for GMs who enjoy narrative adventures, visual atmosphere and having their campaign material connected in one place.
If deep tactical simulation is the main reason you play, a dedicated tactical VTT may be a better fit.
